My greatest pleasure in life has been creating a comfortable, welcoming, and happy home for my family and friends to enjoy. There’s nothing quite like making your own family history surrounded by a house full of loved ones, knowing that you’ve created the “stage” upon which life unfolds.
We all have a particular style that we gravitate towards and I’m no different. I've always had a great appreciation for history, most especially natural history, and am particularly fond of primitive design, Americanism and folk art. By some standards, folk art is considered to be “unsophisticated” with its roots among “simple” people. That works for me since those words describe me perfectly.
At Heart in Hand Mercantile, we carefully curate our designs, striving to find worthy images, documents and expressions from the 17th through the early 20th centuries, which I fondly refer to as “Days of Yore”. The naturalists, artists, scientists and public figures responsible for these works may be long gone but their legacy can live on if we honor them by bringing their work back into the public eye.
I’ve embraced the traditional Shaker “heart in hand” symbol for as long as I can remember, hence the name of my shop. Living life with my heart in my hand has brought me so much joy, and it’s with great pleasure that I launch my little shop offering items that I've designed and manufactured in the USA. Please visit my shop often to see the new treasures I’ve created. I hope you find something that inspires you.
Feel free to use the contact form to provide feedback or just to say hello. This is a small (very small), family-owned business, and I’m always here to help unless I’ve stepped out for an afternoon of fly fishing. I strive to provide the best customer service possible and I want my customers to be 100% satisfied. Let me hear from you!
